JOB SUMMARY
This role will be responsible for managing the activities of the transformation office, focusing on enabling cross-functional collaboration, coordination, and delivery of transformation.
Dir Strategic Initiatives is responsible for managing the activities required to achieve the strategic plan for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH), which may include establishing organizational objectives, developing work plans and timelines, and monitoring and tracking progress. Facilitates the implementation of strategic plans for the area of responsibility that will ensure BSWH meets its business objectives, including continued successful results. Ensures the best use of the BSWH resources for the establishment of key business objectives. Monitors and evaluates results of existing strategic plans and adjusts as necessary. Collaborates and coordinates input from assigned departments to facilitate integration and alignment with BSWH business objectives and overall strategic plans.
A system Director translates and implements strategic plans and objectives for the area of responsibility. Recommends policies and organizational changes for the area to sustain transformation efforts. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual objectives. Erroneous decisions at this level tend to have a negative impact on the success of the area, business unit, and possibly the overall organization's operations. Leads and advises subordinate(s) to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. Has a larger, more complex organization or functional area than a manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Directs system-wide strategic initiatives of an assigned area of responsibility for BSWH.
Recommends and implements strategic and operational plans and priorities aligned to BSWH overall business objectives.
Directs and project manages key initiatives that are critical to the organization and strategic in nature.
Builds cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize strategic outcomes, develop comprehensive project plans, and implement high-value initiatives.
Leads and monitors progress towards simultaneous tasks, assigns resources, communicates with stakeholders, updates senior leadership, and adjusts project tasks and deliverables.
Collaborates at various levels of the organization to facilitate action plans for implementation of strategic initiatives, such as new business platforms or improvements of existing high-impact methodology or models.
Drives and leads improvement initiatives for large scale, complex business platforms, engaging cross-functional teams at all levels.
Drives creation and documentation of new programs and processes for new business endeavors.
Uses data from a variety of internal and external resources to present conclusions and recommendations for strategic initiatives.
Leads and develops presentation-ready content that communicates the various strategic initiatives to stakeholders, often delivering updates to senior leadership, steering committees, board of directors, board of trustees, and other governing bodies.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred. Master's degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in operations management, program management, or related area.
1+ years of experience in a leadership role.
Experience leading large-scale, strategic initiatives and programs.
Healthcare experience preferred.
Project management skills.
Ability to organize, analyze, and synthesize large sets of data to influence strategic decisions.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
