How you will create an impact
This position involves determining the scope and extent of available coverage. Responsibilities include:Re-evaluating coverage as warranted.Clear and concise written and verbal communication with insureds, brokers, and underwriters.Making regular and appropriate contact with internal and external customers.Providing guidance to insured and/or broker to manage expectations.Preparing and executing investigation strategies to identify critical issues affecting liability, causation, and damages.Independently negotiating claims after obtaining the appropriate authority.Documenting evaluation, thought process, and strategy.Utilizing ADR or other means as appropriate and necessary.Effectively strategizing and budgeting the litigation of each claim through discussions with counsel, vendors, and insureds.Establishing clear ground rules with defense and coverage counsel to maintain financial control of budget and expenses.What you’ll need to succeed7 plus years of General Liability claims experience.Experience with Garage/Commercial Auto/Property Damage/Bodily Injury claims.Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills.Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management, including ADR and mediation processes, involving auto/GL exposures.Experience attending and controlling cases at mediations/settlement conferences, pre-suit, post-suit, pretrial, and post-trial.New York and/or Texas adjuster license strongly preferred.Property and casualty licenses required.
