Established as a community non-profit in 1972, The Center provides targeted programs and services to the full diversity of the San Diego LGBTQ community. The mission of The Center is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities for the betterment of our entire San Diego region. POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Planned Giving and Corporate Partnerships is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the Center's planned giving programs and cultivating corporate partnerships. This role focuses on securing long-term financial support through strategic planning, relationship management, and innovative fundraising initiatives.
Planned Giving Program Management
Strategic Development:
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development to create and implement strategies that promote planned giving opportunities to potential donors.
Donor Engagement:
Maintain ongoing communication with planned giving donors, ensuring their intentions are honored and fostering long-term relationships.
Portfolio Management:
Develop and manage a dynamic portfolio that includes prospects in various phases of the donor solicitation cycle.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the major gifts team and other departments to develop strategies for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding planned giving prospects.
Educational Outreach:
Organize and conduct seminars for prospective donors and provide training to staff on planned giving strategies.
Corporate Relations Development
Partnership Acquisition:
Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships and sponsorships that align with the Center's mission.
Relationship Management:
Strengthen existing corporate relationships, developing engagement strategies to increase corporate giving.
Contract Negotiation:
Craft agreements that balance the organizations and partner's interests.
Event Coordination:
Collaborate with corporate partners to organize joint promotional events.
Additional Responsibilities
Department Operations:
Work in collaboration with the Senior Director of Development on the execution of project timelines.
Reporting & Compliance:
Track and record activities as they relate to assigned prospects using The Center's CRM database.
Professional Development:
Stay informed of trends and best practices in planned giving.
Agency Representative
Represent the organization at community activities and events.
LEADERSHIP & CULTURE FACILITATION:
Demonstrate administrative and leadership acumen in finance, budgeting, and grievance resolution.
Promote, model, and ensure fairness and equity in all interactions.
Supervise/mentor assigned staff.
Required QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
At least three years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or corporate partnerships within a non-profit environment.
Certification:
CFRE certification or equivalent is desirable.
Language Skills:
Fluency in English.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Compensation:
The salary for this position is
$90,000
per year and is commensurate with experience.
