Assistant Early Learning DirectorSalary:
$52,000Responsibilities:
Ensures adequate safety procedures are in place for the class being taughtSupervises staff, including call outs, PTO, daily staff schedule, and concerns or issuesEnsures that curriculum is designed and implementedOrders suppliesCoordinates monthly newsletterGenerates snack menuEnsures daily, weekly, and monthly communication to parents to support lesson plans and the milestones and development of the children within the programSupervises programs, including operation, maintenance, appearance, and cleanlinessCodes incoming bills for paymentOrganizes and tracks employee training to ensure staff are in compliance with licensing regulations and ensures trainings are suited to improve the quality of our teachers and centersMonitors and organizes classroom attendance, sign in & outAssists with hiring, training, coaching, supervising, and evaluating Early Learning staffHandles development and disciplinary issues with staff as needed, and implements reward and recognition practicesProvides training and orientation for new parents, teachers, and children including touring families and transitioning childrenMaintains staff files and compliance in CPR/First Aid certifications, including blood borne pathogens, HAZMAT, and other required certifications of the fieldAttends monthly PAC meetings with DirectorPartners with parents to effectively address their questions/concernsAssists with classroom observations and technical supportSubstitutes in classrooms as neededSupports the program goals of the YMCA as a whole and the branch in particularOperates facility and program in Early Learning Director’s absenceCreates, develops, and maintains a positive relationship with teachers, parents, and other branch staffStays current with all licensing, state, and local regulations and ensures that the site and all of its staff are in compliance at all timesAssists Director as needed in preparing the branch or continuing to adhere to NAEYC accreditationOther duties as requiredQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Recreation, or Human Services. Current CPR and First Aid Certification. Documentation of physical examination and TB skin test. Clear the local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting. Must meet the county/state licensing requirements. Minimum of three years experience working primarily with preschoolers or school age children (depending on program) in a licensed child care center. Strong organizational and administrative skills including supervision, program development, and working with children and parents. Ability to supervise staff. Effective communication skills with children and parents.
