Position Overview:Marquee Sports Network seeks a dynamic and innovative Vice President of Content to lead our content strategy and execution across all platforms including its DTC app. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for creating, developing, and executing a content vision that resonates with our passionate fan base and drives audience & revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be a digital-first strategic thinker with an understanding of the evolving media landscape and a proven track record of success delivering multiplatform content that resonates with audiences. The VP of Content Strategy reports to the General Manager.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with Marquee Sports Network's overall business objectives.Oversee the creation, production, and distribution of high-quality content holistically across all platforms, including digital (DTC, app, streaming, podcasting, social media) and linear TV.Leverage data and analytics to inform content decisions, measure performance and hold teams accountable.Cultivate creative storytelling mentality that fuels breadth, depth and velocity of content deliveryLead and inspire a high-performing content team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and stellar editorial decision-making & integrity.Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, sales, and technology, to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of content initiatives.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, including sports teams, leagues, talent, and agencies.Identify and capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities in the sports media industry.
Qualifications:Proven success in a senior content leadership role most recently innovating digital platform experiences with a fan-first mentality.Experience leading and creating various kinds of content including but not limited to live event storytelling on all platforms, original programming, long-form features, short-form social content (graphics, animations, VOD), and studio shows.Leans on data & analytics real-time to fuel ideation and editorial content creation while also utilizing metrics for performance measurement.Track record of setting aggressive yet achievable goals & KPIs leading teams to meet or exceed them.History of setting budgets and proactive fiscal management.Capitalizes on sports intersections with lifestyle, culture & entertainment and at forefront of fan demographics, preferences, consumption habits and behaviors.Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving acumen.Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.Strong editorial leadership and deep understanding of digital space.Unrelenting drive to serve fans in unique and meaningful ways.
Desired Skills and Experience:Experience in developing and executing content strategies for a direct-to-consumer (DTC) platform.Passion for sports and familiarity with the Chicago sports market and surrounding region.
