The Employer and Alumni Partnerships Manager for Graduate Career Services at the UCLA Career Center will cultivate and expand partnerships with employers of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars so that the Career Center can better support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars transitioning to careers beyond academia. To that end, the Employer and Alumni Partnerships Manager will organize and implement events to facilitate interactions between employers and graduate students/postdoctoral scholars; work with the UCLA Industry Relations and Experiential Learning team at UCLA's Career Center to ensure that employers are aware of the talent pool existing among UCLA's graduate students and postdoctoral scholars and that job fairs and other events are designed to include graduate students and postdoctoral scholars; develop and maintain an alumni database and network, in conjunction with UCLA Alumni Relations, to better connect current graduate students and postdoctoral scholars with alumni who share their backgrounds; and create and manage partnerships with alumni and employers to more effectively support graduate students interested in developing skills through internships and experiential learning.

Salary & Compensation

UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

Ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively to different audiences, including graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, UCLA staff and faculty, and employers representing a variety of industries. (Required)

Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships with alumni and employers through networking. (Required)

Demonstrated experience in supporting and advising graduate students with internship and job searches. (Required)

Experience developing resources for employers to educate them on the skills advanced degree students develop. (Required)

Ability to work in a team and independently to complete projects (Required)

Commitment to supporting equity and inclusivity in all aspects of work (Required)

Strong organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills. (Required)

Understanding of how graduate programs and postdoctoral appointments operate. (Preferred)

Background in marketing and social media management in higher education settings. (Preferred)

Ability to work some evenings and weekends in support of special events (Required)

Experience working with data base and project management software. (Preferred)

Knowledge of UC programs, career services, employer, and alumni needs and expectations, recruiting and staffing, and employment trends. (Preferred)
