The Director will oversee clinical activities related to pediatric anesthesia services, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care. They will lead and manage a team of pediatric anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, and resident physicians and will ensure efficient coordination with surgical, medical, and nursing teams to provide optimal anesthesia care.

The Director reports to the Associate Chief Medical Officer, Perioperative Services with a dotted line reporting to the Chair, Department of Anesthesiology. The Director will have a volunteer faculty appointment at OU College of Medicine.

Oklahoma Children's was named one of the Top 50 Children's Hospitals for Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery and Pediatric Gastroenterology & GI Surgery by U.S. News & World Report in its most recent rankings (2023-2024).

The general pediatric anesthesia team consists of eight full-time pediatric anesthesiologists and the division is currently recruiting four additional pediatric anesthesiologists. The division has 14 pediatric CRNAs and anesthesiology residents that rotate through. Oklahoma Children's has 12 ORs and five non-OR procedural sites where pediatric anesthesia services are administered. The average monthly volume is approximately 700-800 cases.
