Position Overview:
The selected candidate will perform as a System Architect / Systems Engineering lead as the technology Owner for a Capability / Project across the project lifecycle. Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate technical concepts across all aspects of the program/lifecycle alongside the project lead/Chief Engineer.
Ensure Technical Content is Defined/Understood by team(s).
Define the Concept and present it at the EE and/or project kick-offs.
Actively participate in Iteration Planning (if appropriate).
Answer questions from teams.
Assist the Project Lead/Chief Engineer in identifying Watch Items and Risks.
Advise the Project Lead/Chief Engineer of any schedule or other concerns.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience.
Must have experience with the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.
Experience providing use case development support to junior systems engineering team members.
Experience reviewing the content and details of technical products and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts.
Must possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines and architecture necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving MDS Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system.
Demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in developing capability concepts, use cases, and sequence diagrams.
Experience generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities.
Experience in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definition.
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD issued secret security clearance at the time of application.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current and active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.
Experience with other Space Domain and Missile Defense Systems is highly desired.
Must have the ability to be flexible to support various tasks on short notice.
Salary Range:
$127,000 - $190,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers.
