Job Description SummaryThe Café Lead Server will assist the banquet director/outlet manager in all aspects and functions of the breakfast café and Grab ‘n Go shop per hotel standards. The Café Lead Server is responsible for prompt, courteous, and efficient service of food and beverage to all guests. They assist the manager in directing, implementing, and maintaining a service and management philosophy that serves as a guide to respective staff to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.Job DescriptionThe Café Lead Server works as a supervisor for the breakfast café when the Banquet Director/Outlet Manager is unavailable. They are responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the food service venues of the hotel. The Café Lead Server sets up, services, and breaks down the food and beverage areas where they are assigned, ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and service.Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.Maintain confidentiality of guest and associate information and pertinent hotel data.Ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training.Work well under the pressure of organizing and attaining production schedules and timelines.Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental, divisional, and hotel policies, procedures, and standards.Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to guests' requests, ensuring guest satisfaction.Handle all cash banks with integrity and in compliance with Sonesta policies.Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items.Restock Grab & Go guest store items.Work with Banquet Director/Outlet Manager on training staff, checklists, menu changes, and service standards.Work as Supervisor for the Café to ensure guest satisfaction, communicating between service staff and the culinary team.Complete all other tasks and duties as needed.Additional Job Information/AnticipatedPay RangeHigh school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Hospitality preferred. 3-5 years' experience in the hospitality industry and in management or supervisory role.
