Your Opportunity

This developer will work on implementation and advancement of design automation and computational design of digital solutions and technologies focused on the water, wastewater, biosolids and energy sectors. The role will liaise closely with the Innovation Portfolio Managers in Water BOU’s Office of Innovation & Technology (OI&T) and the Director of Innovation and Technology. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled design automation and computational design solutions developer. In this role, the professionals will have a pivotal role in driving Stantec’s water business’ digital maturity forward. The professional will primarily develop solutions using Microsoft Azure platform linked to Autodesk Platform Services (APS). The professional will report to an Innovation Portfolio Manager in the OI&T.

Your Key Responsibilities

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

Program, code or develop complete solutions and algorithms, as required, for digital solutions to solve engineering problems using .NET and C#, Autodesk Platform Services APIs and desktops SDKs.

Develop technical requirements and functional design specifications for certain digital solutions, as required, to be built by development teams.

Willingness to develop, implement and test solutions using APS APIs and desktop SDKs.

Troubleshoot software development technical issues – including integration with Autodesk products and APS.

Collaborate, as required, with Autodesk teams to implement software solutions.

Collaborate with the OI&T team to build a strong Innovation group and culture across the water business.

Collaborate with a range of stakeholders on applied research projects.

Effectively leverage new and emergent technologies in support of water digitalization and delivery practice and innovation efforts.

As needed, support the Director of Water Innovation & Technology and Innovation Portfolio Managers in internal informational sessions and messaging to keep key stakeholders in the Water BOU informed of progress, KPIs, etc.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Proven experience as a software engineer or developer with strong proficiency in .NET, CSS, JavaScript (is a plus).

Proven and in-depth experience with cloud computing concepts and functional principles.

Familiarity with RESTful APIs and experience working with API documentation.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Ability to independently manage multiple priorities.

Ability to think strategically and act tactically.

Strong analytical skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within all levels of an organization.

Expert level Microsoft product user; Office365 Suite including Visio and Project.

Experience with Autodesk products, e.g., Revit, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Platform Services.

Experience with Bentley products.

Willingness to develop and enhance low-code/no-code skill sets.

Highly curious and willing to take intellectual risks.

Team oriented with earnest willingness to share ideas with OI&T team and explore through quick test-and-learn approaches.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with back-end technologies, including server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, ASP .NET) and databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server).

Prior experience with 3D modeling and visualization technologies.

Experience developing custom solutions for Autodesk or Bentley desktop software.

Knowledge of DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment.

Exposure to water/wastewater/biosolids treatment/management processes and systems is beneficial but not a requirement.

Experience working in an Agile environment considered an asset.

Functional knowledge of common and related industry products, e.g.,: Bluebeam, Projectwise, ESRI products.

Education and Experience

B.S. in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or B.S. in other engineering with demonstrated and proven programming experience and expertise (C#, Python at minimum).

Minimum of 2 years of software or digital solutions development experience.

Salary Range(s):

76,600 - 111,000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
