, a place where you can make a difference in the lives of students eager to learn and grow.SUMMARY:The Director of Student Success and Evaluation is a full-time faculty member who serves the Physician Assistant Department. This role is responsible for the planning, development, and management of all activities related to evaluating student success across the PA programs. This role serves students by providing analysis of performance and targeted support to enhance learner achievement of program learning outcomes in both didactic and clinical phases. This individual supports the faculty in evaluating opportunities for curricular refinement utilizing student performance across courses and standardized assessments. Additionally, this role supports the programs in the maintenance of accreditation with the ARC-PA by contributing analysis of data gathered through the process of continuous self-study. The incumbent will have extensive depth and breadth of PA education and will help customize learning plans using program-sourced learning platforms to enhance performance. This position will maximize learner access to support services designed to address academic success and retention.
This position offers 7.5 weeks of vacation time and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.KEY JOB ELEMENTS:Ensure preparation, development, and implementation of strategies, systems, processes, learning experiences, and networks that support the achievement of program learning outcomes.Maintain a working knowledge of the learning sciences literature, including remediation strategies both generally in higher education and specific to physician assistant education.Assess, innovate, and implement strategies to improve learner support services across the physician assistant curriculum and monitor academic progress, including remediation across all cohorts.Manage and supervise faculty supported academic intervention and advising for physician assistant learners, including tracking academic progress, initiating student contact, interpreting assessment instruments, and advise learners on how to enhance learning and performance.Identify and support the implementation of innovative medical education pedagogies and methodologies.Oversee the integration of technology and other resources to support an effective learning environment.Review, revise, and assist in the development of programmatic evaluation instruments including exams, reports, and surveys.Assist in a comprehensive evaluation process for the physician assistant program, ensuring there are valid and reliable measures to assess student achievement of program outcomes/competencies, course reviews, faculty teaching and programmatic effectiveness.Monitor and report regional, national and international trends in physician assistant education.Participate in the development, review and revision, of the mission statement, goals and competencies of the program.Orient faculty to the required processes for monitoring and documenting student performance, remediation, and progression to meeting programmatic competencies.Support program director with accreditation compliance, evaluation, and problem-solving activities related to the didactic and clinical curriculum.Engages in service, community and campus relations, and scholarly activities.Instruct in areas of expertise as assigned by the program director.Campus travel can be for extended time periods to meet program needs.REQUIREMENTS:Terminal Degree as a Physician Assistant; Current NCCPA Certification; eligible for Licensure as a PA in applicable state.2 years of academic experience with a PA program required.Knowledge and experience with Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant current standards preferred.Expertise in pedagogy, learning and assessment, and demonstrated.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong interpersonal skills with student, faculty, and staff populations.Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, ExamSoft, Learning Management Systems, and PA education platforms (Lecturio, Rosh Review, etc.)Demonstrated success in working with faculty, administrators, students and staff within a higher education learning community.ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
