Position requires experience in analysis and review of elevation data (typically derived from topographic lidar, topobathymetric data, or IfSAR), vector data (2D and 3D), Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), Digital Surface Models (DSMs), Elevation Derived Hydrography (EDH) data for 3DHP, Watershed Boundary Datasets (WBD), NHD, imagery, and derivative products for state, federal, and private clients across the US. Experience with processing large vector datasets and performing raster geoprocessing preferred. Strong candidates will also have a good conceptual understanding of fundamental remote sensing concepts and geospatial processes for various products, e.g., how lidar sensors work, basic GPS ground survey procedures, airborne lidar trajectory processing, interaction of light and water for bathymetry applications, and ortho-imagery processing.Working with elevation data, hydrography, hydrographic networks, and derived productsCreation and analysis of data products and processing resultsWorking with Watershed Boundary Datasets (WBD) and National Hydrography Dataset (NHD)Feature extraction and attributionWork with the Product Line Lead to assist in the execution of projects, on time and within budgetData Management and Handling: Planning and monitoring production data, ensuring data management protocols are met including the use of proper files and formats as well as file locations, storage, and backupsPerform work that appropriately follows all quality control steps and practices to ensure deliverables meet client specificationsProvide feedback and support for developing and/or updating SOPs as necessaryWorks with production staff to support process improvements; collaborates with other Technology/Process Improvement teams to review best practices to enhance product line, gain efficiencies, and improve qualitySupport improvements to automation of the production and QC process through providing technical guidance and ideasTask Management; Problem resolution; Report writing; CollaborationQuality Assurance, documentation, and providing feedbackRequired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field3+ years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in elevation data processing and elevation model creation/manipulation, hydrography, or other remote sensing processing, development, and QA/QCAn understanding of GIS, elevation data, lidar, and concepts including a strong knowledge of various raster and vector data types, coordinate systems, projections, and datumsIn-depth knowledge of ESRI’s products including ArcGIS 10x, ArcPro, and experience with GDBsProficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access)Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight schedules as requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsBeneficial Skills & Experience
