We’re looking for a senior engineer experienced in Python to join our team. This Level 2 Senior Engineer should be comfortable leading and mentoring developing engineers.
As you would be working for a fast-growing start-up, your role would be wide-ranging. We’re looking for someone who can successfully navigate uncertainty and lead complex projects to success.
We work heavily with the following tools and technologies:
Python, Django, and a wide range of Python libraries
SQL databases, specifically Postgresql
Data warehousing and processing tools like Amazon Redshift and Apache Airflow
Cloud environments, including AWS and Heroku
A range of AI and Machine Learning tools, which we use to process and enhance our data
Job Responsibilities
Lead and mentor developing engineers
Manage complex projects from design to delivery
Drive cross-functional discussions to unearth requirements and architect elegant technical solutions
Develop Django-based applications using Python, Postgresql, etc.
Work with large data sets and pipelines, including data cleaning, analysis, etc.
Write effective, scalable, and testable code
Improve functionality of existing systems
Follow security and data protection best practices
Requirements
7+ years work experience in Python, or strong experience in another programming language and some exposure to Python
Expertise in at least one popular Python web framework (preferably Django)
Good understanding of SQL and how to efficiently use databases to solve problems
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and help foster a healthy team spirit
Exemplary problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to navigate uncertainty and lead complex projects to success
BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent experience/knowledge.
Bonus Points
Experience working on open-source projects
Experience with git and GitHub
Understanding of emerging AI patterns
Experience using Pandas, Numpy, or Dask to analyze large data sets.
Salary : The salary range for this full-time position is $190,000 - $215,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level, and reflect the minimum and maximum salary across all US locations. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
