Bachelor's degree in a related field and six (6) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 10 (Salaried)Position Description:
The primary function of the Director of Employee Relations in the Department of Human Resources is to ensure compliance within university departments and equal employment opportunities for its employees under applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as the Staff Personnel Policies and Procedures and the University Redbook.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as University Deputy Title IX Coordinator.Supervise employee relations team and assist in the development and implementation of employee relations policies and programs.Advise University employees, supervisors, and managers regarding policy interpretation and ensure proper and consistent application of policies.Provide advice, counsel, and guidance on employee relations issues.Serve as lead Title VII investigator and assist in Title IX investigations.Train investigators and ensure overall compliance of the investigative process.Investigate complaints such as harassment, Title VII, Title IX, EEO, and HR Compliance Line.Collaborate with appropriate departments/agencies to formulate appropriate courses of action.Write case analyses of complaints.Design and manage programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements such as OFCCP and EEOC.Track laws and regulations affecting the University's policies and develop/implement corrective action plans.Manage projects and analysis in updating the components of the University's affirmative action plan.Manage, develop, and implement performance management programs.Oversee and participate in employee relations processes including grievance processes, appeal hearings, pre-termination hearings, ADA accommodations, leave administration, and unemployment hearings.Oversee and submit required regulatory reports such as the affirmative action plan, VETS4212, and Human Relations Commission.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Related FieldSHRM CertificationCompetencies:Project Management - organized, task-oriented, ability to delegate and follow up.Proactive - anticipates and plans for problems before they arise.Analytical - evaluates data and information to choose the best solution and make recommendations.Flexible - ability to change directions as needed for the good of the department or organization.Service Excellence - responsive, informative, and pleasant to work with.Organized - manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks.Critical Thinking - identifies appropriate options through thoughtful consideration.Work Ethic - motivated, diligent, and persistent in the workplace.Interpersonal - builds effective relationships through trust and communication.Teamwork - collaborates and leads others to achieve desired outcomes.Target Compensation:
