SummaryThis role will communicate the value Novartis creates, and its impact on people, the environment, and society to financial and business development / mergers & acquisitions audiences. Set vision and align on strategic engagement efforts to drive our company’s leadership narrative in financials and to position our company as the business development partner of choice. Support the Head of Finance Communications during quarterly earnings and beyond cycles and Strategy & Growth (S&G) leadership on external/internal communications.
About the RoleYour Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and implementation of communications strategies to highlight Novartis enterprise strategy and performance to the financial community both at earnings and between reporting cycles
Implement communications tactics that elevate quarterly earnings/investor events, coordinating logistics, aligning messaging with Investor Relations team, engaging traditional and social media
Partner with Investor Relations and key teams within Finance organization
Implement communications plans and tactics that promote/announce business development deals/strategic collaborations
Execute on Strategy & Growth leadership appearances, video tapings, interviews, etc.; managing logistics, briefing documents and speaker preparation
Develop and maintain strong Financial/Strategy & Growth Communications process management tools
Manage ongoing research to develop a deep understanding of key audiences and stakeholders, including media and business development partners/prospective partners, to expertly reach target audiences and instill confidence in the company. Continuously track and analyze perceptions of Novartis by the Business Development community to understand their drivers and mitigate potential issues
Exemplify a predictive mindset; seek multidirectional insights to understand our environments and stakeholders, and embrace iterative, measurable experimentation and action
Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
7+ years of experience in communications, with working knowledge of finance and business development communications
Social media strategy, planning and execution skills
Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and insights to support decision-making
Effective interpersonal and communication (both written & verbal) skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders, and ability to influence senior levels/teams. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and navigate complexity.
Demonstrated ability to continuously track and leverage new trends in financial/business development communications
Expertise in process management/project management/logistics, along with the demonstrated ability to manage agencies/budgets
Desirable Requirements:
Degree subject area in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field preferred; advanced degree a plus
Demonstrated ability to contribute to the implementation of successful financial and business development communication strategies.
Crisis and issues management experience a plus.

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $130,400.00 - $195,600.00 / year;
however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
