HBK is searching for a Design Specialist to join our growing team. This position performs CADD Drafter and calculation duties in AutoCAD Civil 3D. The candidate selected for this position will be working with records interpretation and calculation, field measured geospatial data, and conducting calculations to create linework and points in support of utility infrastructure projects throughout our broad operating range. Description: Uses CADD to calculate and interpret existing record boundaries and prepare new boundary documents in AutoCAD Civil 3D under the direct supervision of licensed professionals. Performs assignments requiring the application of fundamental CADD drafting techniques in accordance with established industry standards and procedures. Has working familiarity with and/or preparation of: Project base mapping – existing conditions, existing property and easement calculations, survey and 3rd party data set importation, oversee and manage associative drawing file entities. Point files/databases 2D and 3D linework Orthographic Imagery File exportation for review and submission. Process Survey Linework from field codes Process GPS data in Trimble Business Center Prepares a variety of land survey deliverable products including, but not limited to: Easement exhibits and sketch maps. ALTA/ACSM Surveys Records of Surveys Plats Right-of-Way maps Topographic Surveys Aerial Surveys Construction Staking Calculations Survey As built Preparations Performs assigned geospatial support tasks independently and as a team member, compliant with industry standards and project specific format. Performs design tasks as directed by immediate supervisor. Performs related engineering support tasks, which are not completely standardized or prescribed. Adhere to drawing standards and templates. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED certificate. Minimum 10 years of experience with Autodesk’s AutoCAD software program or an Associate’s degree or related technical certificate with 5 years’ experience. Essential skills and experience: Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Trimble Business Center (GPS data processing). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel). Ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas. Ability to understand and interpret multiple different drawing disciplines (civil, electrical, structural, architectural). Possesses exceptional attention to detail. Possesses a high level of efficiency. Possesses a strong work ethic. Background Check and Drug Testing Information: Offers contingent upon satisfactory results from our standard background check and receipt of results of a satisfactory drug screening test from a location specified by HBK.
