Job Title: Configuration & Data Management Associate (Hybrid)Location: Herndon, VA - Herndon, VA 20171 US (Primary)Job Description*This is not an IT, software engineering, or quality assurance position*Fibertek, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Configuration and Data Management Associate to join our team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining company-wide and program specific configuration data and documentation. You will ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards while supporting cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include organizing and updating technical documents, managing configuration files, and assisting in the implementation of configuration management processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with Program Management, engineering, and support department staff. Working knowledge of standard EIA-649 is a plus. This role reports directly to the CDM Manager.Key Responsibilities:Part number issuance: Assign and manage unique part numbers for new products and components, ensure part numbers are accurately documented and easily retrievable, and maintain established tracking tool of all part numbers and related specifications.Release Management: Assist in the release process for design files, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained, aid in tracking and managing the status of design files throughout their lifecycle, and collaborate with engineering and program teams to ensure timely updates and releases.Change Control Processing: Document and track change requests, ensuring they are reviewed and approved by relevant stakeholders, and communicate changes effectively to all affected teams and maintain updated records.Documentation Maintenance: Ensure all design files and documentation are up-to-date and comply with industry standards, and organize and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and user manuals.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to support product development and releases, and participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss program updates and documentation needs.Quality Assurance: Assist in internal and external audits of documentation and change control processes to ensure compliance with company standards, and identify improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of configuration management practices.Training and Support: Provide support to staff members on part numbering, release management, and change control processes, and serve as a point of contact for inquiries related to enterprise and program configuration documentation.By fulfilling these duties, the Configuration and Data Management Associate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and organization of our enterprise & program documentation processes.Job RequirementsExperience and Expertise Required:BA/BS/BBA or 2-3 years on the job experienceDemonstrate working knowledge on configuration management standards and best practicesExperience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software preferredProficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent communication skills both written and verbalAttention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task.Strong analytical skillsSelf-starter, problem solver, and deadline driven.Experience working with PLM software Product Center a plusExperience working with CAD software CREO a plusFIBERTEK, Inc. is a recognized leader in advanced lasers, lidars and laser communication systems providing our DoD, NASA and aerospace customers discriminating capabilities.
