Join our growing Global Carbon business as a Vice President in North America Carbon Sales and Origination in either New York or Houston. This team engages across a number of carbon markets in the US in various ways including provision of physical and financial risk management products, financing and balance sheet optimization, and value creation for our clients by drawing on our broad range of capabilities to deliver creative and innovative solutions.

What role will you play?In this role, you will join a team with an active trading, structuring and finance presence across a number of major carbon markets such as California, Washington and RGGI. You will be part of and have engagement with Macquarie’s wider Global Carbon business which has an active presence in major carbon markets in EMEA, Asia-Pacific and internationally, and look for expansion opportunities for the business in the Americas region as new markets develop. You will have responsibility for managing existing clients, sourcing and driving new client and transaction opportunities across risk management and structured finance products in the carbon markets and will demonstrate the ability to think independently to provide innovative products and solutions to existing and new clients, drawing on your experience and interest in global carbon markets and their role in the energy transition.
What you offer
5+ years of experience in North American Carbon Markets
Strong commercial acumen, drive, outcome focus, a keen interest in global carbon/environmental markets, passion for innovating and exploring new markets and opportunities in a client-focused setting
Demonstrated client-facing experience and ability to independently interact with internal and external stakeholders of different seniority
Strong financial literacy including understanding of financial products and derivatives, ability to interpret financial statements, and modelling skills in Excel
Demonstrated experience in independent origination, client management and development of new opportunities.
