What You’ll Be Doing
The individual in this role is responsible for generating business for CIBC’s Equities business collaborating with the broader Equity Sales team, Equity Trading, Equity Derivatives, Prime Services and our Research team while also working in partnership with other Global Markets businesses, Equity Capital Markets and Investment Banking. The role requires strong existing investor relationships, event driven sales and analysis experience and a track record of generating IP and success serving the highly competitive hedge fund market in Canada and the US. The successful candidate will serve as one of CIBC’s thought leaders and relationship builders across all our sectors of coverage.

How You’ll Succeed
Driving commission growth by generating and selling CIBC research and original trade ideas to deliver on P&L targets. Providing investors in the US and Canada with CIBC research alongside deal-related insight while also gathering market intelligence and sharing it internally.
Initiate, maintain and deepen senior, strategic corporate relationships in concert with Equity Research, IB, ECM and other teams.
Gather, interpret and share intelligence from corporate, industry, and investment sources with Research, Equities and Equity Derivatives partners and contribute to our Research franchise, equity IP, morning call and also author a daily morning note.
Strategizing and collaborating with other US sales and trading professionals to deliver on regional goals.
Provide feedback and insight across all sectors of CIBC’s Research, corporate access and events.
Proactively cross-sell Global Markets and Capital Markets products and support the goals of other business groups.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $200,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave, and Vacation), Holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
