Position Title:
Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Pre-six LecturerSalary Range:
A reasonable estimate for an appointment to teach a standard five-credit course is $8,531 - $10,492 (based on salary points 1-8). Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.Percent Time:
Variable, based on the course load assigned.Anticipated Start:
Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in fall quarter 2024 through fall quarter 2025. Initial appointments with effective dates outside of this recruitment period will require an alternative open recruitment.Position Duration:
Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.Application Window

The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach during the academic year or Summer Session. Outstanding candidates with experience teaching in the following specialties within biology are encouraged to apply: introductory biology, marine biology, population biology, ecology, evolution, plant biology, botany, zoology, animal or plant physiology.The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties. Special attention will be given to those with proven undergraduate teaching skills and/or experience as an independent instructor at the post-secondary level.The hiring unit will not sponsor employment-eligible immigration statuses for this position.Internal candidates will be given priority consideration.Qualifications
