Req #446Tuesday, September 17, 2024Job SummaryThe Program Manager will supervise the Project Coordinator, Curriculum Specialist, Indigenous Program Specialist, and the Project Assistant. The Project Director will execute independent judgement to plan and organize a diversified workload and to recommend changes in relation to program practices or procedures. The project will involve a significant amount of coordination and planning, under the direct supervision of the Education Director.Duties/ResponsibilitiesEstablish the project Leadership Team, ensure that the team meets monthly, and lead the team’s review of the project schedule to ensure the timely delivery of quality products and services.Coordinate the collaborative partnership with the Latseen Committee, Curriculum Specialist, and Instructor of Record to co-design the curricular resources and provide lecture-based instruction during the project.Coordinate the involvement of the Project Collaborators in developing and implementing college/career programming during the project.Ensure that 24 harvesting mentors are recruited, trained, and provide experiential instruction during the project and support them to provide that instruction for the young Native men participating in the project.Ensure that two cohorts of 30 young Native men, ages 16-24, are recruited, trained, and complete lecture-based and experiential instruction during the project.Support the Curriculum Specialist to co-design field experience curriculum to be delivered during the project in collaboration with the Instructor of Record and Latseen Committee.Ensure that the Academies and field experiences serve two cohorts of 30 young Native men.Ensure that the two cohorts of young Native men served by the project complete their community-based instruction during the project and that they attend the Regional Wooch Yax̱ Event.Collaborate with partnering entities to ensure that the Wellness & Prevention objectives are met and serve the young men in their home communities.Coordinate, lead, and/or participate in other project-related meetings.Assist and monitor the performance of all project collaborators and contractors.Participate in monthly review of the project budgets and financial reporting with the Principal Investigator, Chief Operating Officer, and Education Director.Prepare all required grant reporting.Coordinate project evaluation and reporting, including tracking of activities, gathering and maintaining data for performance measures.Other duties as assigned.Required SkillsDemonstrate strong supervisory skillsDemonstrated high level of verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and activities with attention to detailStrong organizational and planning skills in project management and program coordinationExperience managing federal grants, grant reporting, and project evaluationTechnical capacity and expertise in using charts, tables, graphs, spreadsheets, and databasesKnowledge of Southeast Alaska Native culture and Southeast Alaska’s communitiesSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position will have four direct reports.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally communicate. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.About this RoleThis is a full-time benefited position. SHI employees are expected to work during SHI’s regular business hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
