Property Director
YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South, Houston, Texas, United States,
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The full-time Property Director is responsible for maintenance of the YMCA facilities in the District assigned. This position reports to the District VP, Operations with a dotted line to the Senior Property Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides overall coordination of Center maintenance, including planning and overseeing preventative maintenance.
Performs ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs.
Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems at Centers.
Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.
Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, and building departments to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
Supports the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against the budget.
Works closely with Center Directors at select centers.
Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
Updates facility plans periodically. Assists with developing an annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA’s strategic plan and community needs.
Position will work at multiple Centers in the Association.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Preferred High school diploma or GED.
Three or more years of experience in facility maintenance.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
Skills in project management.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
CPO or equivalent certification required within 120 days of employment.
Ability and current license to drive that meets YMCA standards.
Ability to track projects and progress using specific facility software.
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The schedule for this
full-time
position is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, though overtime, evenings, and weekend work will be required depending on the business need.
