Position Overview
International is currently seeking a
Vehicle Project Engineer.
International's Vehicle Engineering Team plays a central role in all our engineering programs, including model year refresh programs and emerging technologies. We are responsible for vehicle level attributes and requirements, as well as managing development and validation vehicle activities, including vehicle and engine builds. We are responsible for understanding the end goal of the vehicle and features to develop the most optimized validation plan for each project.
Responsibilities
· Establish vehicle level attributes and requirements.· Define build specifications for engineering test vehicles and bucks.· Manage vehicle and engine retrofits when required.· Lead problem solving of engineering issues.· Manage gate reviews for programs from concept charter through Job1.· Manage validation planning and execution including engine and vehicle builds.· Lead technical and analytical discussions with cross functional teams.· Requires an understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems as well as a process driven problem-solving methodology.· Responsible for understanding the end goal of the vehicle and features to develop the most optimized validation plan for each project.· Responsible for mentoring less experienced team members.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 8 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experienceAt least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activitiesORMaster’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 6 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experienceAt least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activitiesORPhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceAt least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experienceAt least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
Desired Skills
· Knowledge of Vehicle Systems, interdependencies, and their impact upon functional performance.· An understanding of truck applications.· Proven ability to problem-solve.· Proven leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.· Effective team skills – proven ability to function effectively in a cross-functional team, to organize people and activities.· Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
