We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer & Systems Architect to design, implement, and manage our company's network and IT infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring our systems are robust, secure, and capable of supporting our business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering and systems architecture, with experience in virtualization and secure network configurations.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement network architectures that meet the company's needs, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.

Oversee the setup and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and network devices.

Set up and manage virtual environments to support various business functions effectively.

Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to safeguard our systems.

Diagnose and resolve network issues, providing technical support to staff as needed.

Create and maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, system architectures, and standard operating procedures.

Work closely with other IT team members and departments to understand requirements and implement solutions that enhance productivity.

Monitor network performance and conduct regular assessments to identify potential improvements.

Liaise with vendors and service providers to procure hardware and software solutions that align with the company's infrastructure needs.

Provide training and guidance to staff on network and systems usage best practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network engineering, systems architecture, or a related role.

Strong knowledge of firewall technologies and network security best practices.

Experience with virtualization technologies and secure network configurations.

Proficient in managing server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).

Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker, with experience in orchestrating containers using Kubernetes for application deployment and management.

Familiarity with designing and implementing air gap networks or similar isolated network architectures to enhance security in sensitive environments.

Proficient in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

Knowledge of networking hardware such as routers, switches, and access points.

Familiarity with performance monitoring tools to assess network performance.

Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and backup solutions.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of cloud services and architectures (AWS, Azure, etc.).

Basic understanding of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.

Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) relevant to network security.
