Come join our collaborative technically diverse team as we advance the technology and scale our capabilities to rapidly deliver and put robust electric propulsion systems on orbit.The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to accelerate the engineering development, qualification, production, and delivery of our Astra Spacecraft Engine (ASE) product line. You will work closely with agile cross-functional teams across the company to ensure that all aspects of the design are well-defined, integrated, tested, and validated to meet internal and customer requirements. You will have the opportunity to grow within a fast-paced dynamic team environment, as you draw upon your technical expertise and engineering fundamentals – to problem solve as our systems move through integration, test, production, and on-orbit commissioning. There will be opportunities to interface with external customers, as well as diversify or deepen your technical skill set as desired.How You'll Fulfill Your MissionLearn and apply systems engineering approaches and engineering rigor to the development, test, delivery, and deployment of ASE systemsDevelop, maintain, and update system performance and design requirementsDefine and support Qualification and Product Acceptance testingSupport transition to Manufacturing and Production troubleshootingProvide engineering support for deployed on-orbit systemsCollaborate and interface broadly across Engineering and Operations teams, including with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and quality engineering counterpartsWhy We Value YouMinimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or another related technical fieldExperience and demonstrated success in professional engineering industry or engineering research/R&D roleDesired MultipliersM.S. or Ph.D. in engineering or another related technical fieldExperience with spacecraft electric propulsion systemsExperience with aerospace (or similar industry) qualification and acceptance testing programsDomain knowledge of systems engineering, integration & testExperience with systems engineering software tools (e.g., JAMA, DOORS)Strong written and verbal communication skillsThe pay range for this role is:

$85,000-$131,000The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range in the

San Francisco Bay Area

and excludes additional earnings such as bonus and benefits. All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicant’s status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. and California laws. Similarly, positions requiring the ability to work on government contracts or a security clearance are also contingent upon the applicants ability to receive the appropriate clearance and be allowed to work on U.S. government contracts.
