The Army Strategic Infrastructure Department (N214), is responsible for ~50+ staff-years of technical and domain-specific work focused on the Enterprise Network, Systems, Services and Sustainment. Our primary technical competencies include network engineering, cybersecurity, cloud, machine learning, artificial intelligence and data analytics. The work requires an understanding and comfort operating at senior-levels of the Army, including routine coordination and collaboration with Army Senior Leaders (3 and 4 Star General Officer and SES level).

MITRE’s Army Division has an opening for a recent graduate in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or similar degree programs to continue the growth of our data analytics group in support of a diverse set of Army sponsors. The work includes engaging with sponsors to scope and prioritize tasks, collecting large datasets to perform data-driven analyses, conducting market research, and performing additional research and analysis as necessary.
This position supports other department capabilities in cost, economic, business analyses, and business intelligence as needed. Expect a dynamic team environment where tasks are rarely routine and often require novel approaches.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist in identifying sources of information and gathering a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data to support decisions that have implications for MITRE and its government sponsors.
Apply analysis skills, including exploratory data analysis, time series analysis, and linear regression.
Leverage other analysis to include mathematical modeling, capability benefit analysis, and data-driven analysis.
Draw conclusions from analyses and clearly articulate key findings in both written and verbal form.
Assist in developing data visualization products that improve the presentation of complex data sets.
Translate unstructured data and nontraditional sources of information into decision insights.
Explore sponsor environments for cross-government challenges and identify potential best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or other quantitative analysis field, or 3 years and a Master’s degree, or a PhD with relevant experience.
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
Proficient with MS Office Suite and other business intelligence tools such as Excel and Power BI.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Active Secret level security clearance.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Data Science, or other engineering field with 3 years of related experience.
Experience with decision modeling and analysis.
Expertise in using specific data science tools such as R, Tableau, Python, and Qlik.
