Senior Engineer Application Systems & Integration
in our
IT department.
This a senior-level administrative engineer/programmer analyst position that will focus on computer applications supporting operation of mission critical, high volume departments and functions of the institution. This person will provide leadership and project management for the implementation of upgrades or introduction of new products, design and develop interfaces between the
ERP
system and third party software applications when necessary, develop and maintain administrative databases, and provide ongoing support for users in those departments. This person will give training and work direction to less experienced staff and provide direction to consultants on standards, technical installations, configuration, and integration .
Responsibilities Include:Provide technical leadership for the installation, configuration and implementation of new software and upgrades to existing application software modules used by assigned departments.Maintain and enhance existing applications as requested. Develop and implement program code based on design and specifications using accepted standards.Design new applications based on provided functional requirements documents.Analyze, define, and document technical requirements for workflow, logical processes, and interfaces with other systems.Understand and provide ongoing support for Banner
ERP
systems, particularly the Finance, Advancement, HR and Student modules.Promote concept of “key user” program and provide appropriate training and ongoing consulting assistance.Complete maintenance functions assigned such as installation of
ERP
system and other software patches/updates, user account cleanup, file system cleanup, database maintenance procedures, etc.Write programs, data extraction scripts, and report generation requests using appropriate programming and report generation tools. Interact with business users across various functional areas to gather and interpret requirements, ensuring that information products satisfy business needs.

Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree plus minimum of five years experience with at least two years at the senior programmer/analyst level or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.Experience analyzing the most complex user problems and recommending both short and long term solutions.Experience installing and maintaining
ERP
application software for colleges highly desirable.Programming experience in a Web environment ( HTML ,
CSS
etc.) desirable.Ability to provide work direction and coordinate implementations projects.Must have strong communication and organizational skills, proven ability to work successfully with end user teams and be self-directed.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Higher Education environmentExperience with Ellucian Banner is a plus
