DB Lead / SSIS specialist
Responsibilities:
Strong on Advanced SQL queries and troubleshooting.
Optimize database systems for performance efficiency.
Perform space management and capacity planning for database systems.
Identify any issues related to query performance and provide corrective measures.
Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, views, and triggers to support application development.
Troubleshoot and resolve DB-related issues (queries, functions, views, procedures, joins, etc.).
Work with the application team and train them on Advanced SQL query skills.
Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects.
Design, develop, and implement database systems based on project/product/application requirements.
Develop database schema, tables, and dictionaries as needed.
Perform data backup and archival on a regular basis.
Test databases and perform bug fixes.
Troubleshoot database-related issues in a timely fashion.
Designing and developing SSIS/SQL ETL solutions to acquire and prepare data from numerous upstream systems for processing by QRM.
Build data transformations with SSIS including importing data from files, moving data from one database platform to another.
Debug and tune SSIS or other ETL processes to ensure accurate and efficient movement of data.
Design, implement, and maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes) and database security.
Experience working with SSIS packages.
Proficient with ETL tools such as Microsoft SSIS.
Develop security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage.
Evaluate existing database and recommend improvements for performance efficiency. Develop best practices for database design and development activities.
Quality assurance through code reviews, setting coding standards, and driving continual improvement activities.
Provide oversight and architectural guidance to a team.
Leadership and mentoring – department and peers.
Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, take initiative to drive projects to successful conclusions.
Experience of working in an agile project execution methodology.
Good to have: Experience using bulk loading methods on MS-SQL, Oracle databases, SSIS.
