About the role

Responsible for working directly with the client and/or consultant specifically regarding data center physical layer build out or expansion projects. Meets customer demands by designing and developing a proposal package supplemented with drawings and bill of materials. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc.

Responsibilities

Completes data projects by establishing project objectives, milestones, and standards for builds, upgrades, and expansions; completing feasibility, understanding of customer needs and expectations, identifying network solution required to achieve customer data needs.Development of topology drawings, rack elevations, product specification, project implementation and proposal, and BOM generation.System design: generation of supporting documentation including application drawings, product recommendations, bill-of-material generation, and final client presentation.Work with a cross-functional team of engineers, AE, spec team, and business partners to identify customer needs, generate innovative ideas, and deliver high-quality solutions.Incorporate best practices, industry standards, and approved emerging technologies into design frameworks.Technical phone support, both internal (CSR support) and end user with focus on data center products and system applications.Technical sales support consisting of pre- and post-sale end user support and design and application assistance.Technical sales presentations in support of RSM and SAM territory accounts (travel required).RFP/RFI Generation/Response Generation.Maintains engineering database by entering and monitoring project milestones.

Qualifications

Data center management, systems integration, structured topology and infrastructure design.Proficient in CAD systems, specifically VISIO & AutoCAD.Understanding and working with BIM.Basic understanding of industry codes and cabling standards.Physical layer infrastructure design utilizing Leviton Fiber and copper products with a focus on data center products and system applications as well as support on general fiber optic applications.Understanding of other solutions used in a data center such as but not limited to cabinets, active hardware including switches, transceivers, computing devices, storage devices, cooling, power, etc.Understanding of physical layer data center infrastructure: copper, fiber, patching, routing, etc.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders.Ensuring accuracy in work product, documentation, and processes to maintain high standards.Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with key stakeholders.

Education & Experience

Undergraduate 4-year engineering degree.Industry recognized Data Center accreditation such as DCDC, DCIE, DCIS etc. preferred.10 years’ working in infrastructure design, data center design, or installation services in a supervisory capacity.

Travel

Estimated at 20%.

Pay Range

($90,000 - $110,000 per year)
