(SuprTEK) is seeking candidates for a Configuration Management Specialist position supporting Defense Health Agency (DHA) in San Antonio. As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in adhering to best practices for documenting and managing all configuration changes and associated downtimes for the enterprise. You will be responsible for maintaining full traceability of configurable items using the DHA asset management system (currently MHS ServiceNow), and ensuring effective documentation, scheduling, and execution of configuration changes. This role will be a Full-Time onsite position at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA).Responsibilities:
Follow standard configuration management practices and procedures, including maintaining configuration baselines and providing input to DHA Configuration Control Boards.Support formal configuration baselining processes to ensure hardware and software revisions are fully documented, including functionality and interfaces with other systems/tools.Assist in the establishment and management of new Configurable Items (CI) as new releases or infrastructure changes are deployed, ensuring traceability from production stages.Use the Configuration Management (CM) module within the preferred DHA ITSM Tool (i.e., MHS ServiceNow) to monitor, maintain, and enhance CIs, ensuring proper documentation, control, and compliance.Ensure that all changes to systems, infrastructures, and services are documented, controlled, and compliant with the DHA Configuration Management Database (CMDB) processes.Perform all configuration management activities according to industry best practices, ensuring status reports are provided to the Government within 24 hours of request.Collaborate with Government teams to support DHA CMDB processes and ensure that all CM data collection aligns with the Government’s ITSM tool and DHA configuration management plans.Identify and manage the root causes of IT service incidents to not only resolve incidents but analyze the underlying causes to prevent recurrence and eliminate root causes.Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Two to five years’ experience in Information Technology.Active DoD Secret Clearance required.Experience with CM software.Experience with software tools used to track system issues.Strong communication and problem management skills with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve incidents.Strong attention to detail to organize and manage all IT assets.Preferred Skills:
Knowledge and expertise in configuration management best practices and procedures.Experience providing support for DHA Configuration Control Boards.Experience using DHA ITSM Tool (i.e., MHS ServiceNow).Experience with identification and elimination of root causes of IT service incidents.Knowledge and expertise in documenting DHA Configuration Management Database (CMDB) processes.About SuprTEK:Since 1996, SuprTEK has performed exceptionally well on a multitude of DoD and government agency contracts.
