UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW medical centers, and research operations around the world. UW-IT partners with the UW community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service.The position will support the University of Washington Information Technology (UW-IT) Facilities Services and work with UW employees, visitors, contractors, and other UW-IT affiliates. This position will perform comprehensive facilities management activities for all UW-IT's office buildings and employees including but not limited to:Building access control including ongoing access record keeping.Office interior design and furniture layout.Office/Staff moves, relocations, and remodels that support program changes.Building maintenance and repair issues including certain tenant improvement requests.Coordination with campus facilities or other stakeholders as required to support UW-IT spaces.Position Complexities:This position will collaborate and work with directors, managers, and staff on office and workspace layouts that incorporate ergonomic, safe, and ADA-compliant design features. This position will oversee and manage office building access controls. This position will routinely work with the supervisor to review and resolve building issues and schedule repairs; develop and oversee deferred maintenance list; work closely with service providers to perform tenant improvements, other remodels, and general repairs inside UW-IT facilities; and maintain inventory of office space assets. This position works closely and is required to establish and maintain good, fundamental relationships with the UW Real Estate Office, Capital Projects Office, Facilities Services Office, and outside property management firms.Position Impact:UW-IT Facilities Services provides a variety of services to support the mission of UW-IT. Occupying over 110,000 square feet of office spaces, services include: building maintenance and operations; building access; workplace operations; space planning; conference rooms; furniture, fixture, and equipment services; staff moves, tenant improvements, and project management. These services are essential in helping UW-IT meet our strategic direction and mission for the University of Washington.Position Responsibilities:This position is a Program Coordinator position that provides direct support to UW-IT Facilities Services. UW-IT Facilities Services is responsible for all office buildings and spaces occupied by the UW-IT employees; providing building access to UW-IT office spaces, Data Centers, Communication, and Router rooms occupied by UW-IT.Under general direction, this position will support the development and maintenance of databases, documentation, and reports; utilize our UW Connect system to track and update service requests, update records and documentation. Coordinate building maintenance issues and minor repair projects. Fulfill building access requests and audit building access card validity. This position will be responsible for fulfilling customer service requests, interpreting, applying, and explaining processes. Provide information regarding program activities, policies, and procedures and perform other duties in support of UW-IT Facilities Services.Requirements:High school graduation or equivalent and two years’ experience. To qualify for this position, candidates must also meet the following additional requirements: Demonstrate a high level of proficiency using PC platforms. Possess strong professional communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 and other PC-based software tools.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Successfully completed the Washington State Patrol criminal background check or equivalent.Conditions of employment:Hybrid - expectation to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
