Location: Chicago, ILJob Description:Create, curate, and manage social media content including text, audio, visual, and multimedia formats.Develop, manage, and execute social media campaigns, website development, listservs, newsletters, and events.Translate and disseminate CEHD research findings, innovations, and scientific knowledge to various audiences across email and social media platforms, with the support of research staff.Collaborate with design, research, web, and administrative staff related to projects, maintaining a consistent voice for the CEHD brand.Lead social media personnel (interns, staff, student workers) to execute and maintain media strategies.Provide comprehensive and responsive administrative and technical support for the Director and Executive Director.Code, edit, and prepare (in LaTeX) complex academic manuscripts and other technical documents in collaboration with the Directors, Technical Editing Director, and research team.Prepare materials for Director’s speaking engagements and classroom presentations and exams (e.g., slides using Beamer and PowerPoint).Plan, develop, and disseminate information designed to keep the public informed of the organization’s programs, accomplishments, or point of view.Accomplish assigned duties through written communications, visual/graphic media, and avenues of digital communications and social media.Perform other related work as needed.Preferred Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree.Experience: Professional experience in a related field.Preferred Competencies:Ability to work productively despite a heavy workload, competing priorities, complex problems, and/or tight deadlines.Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information with absolute discretion.Ability to manage projects and complete work with a high level of accuracy, strict attention to detail, and minimal supervision.Ability to communicate with courtesy, clarity, and diplomacy in a service-oriented role.Excellent problem-solving skills where an issue is followed through to resolution.Ability to understand research models and writing methodology.Knowledge of and interest in cutting-edge research on inequality and human development.Technical Knowledge and Skills:Social Media: Data analytics, X, LinkedIn, MailChimp, WordPress, G suite.Technical editing: LaTeX, Endnote, Microsoft Office Suite.Content management/design: WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign.Application Documents:Resume (required)Cover letter (required)References (3) (required)The University of Chicago is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity/Disabled/Veterans Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national or ethnic origin, age, status as an individual with a disability, protected veteran status, genetic information, or other protected classes under the law.Staff job seekers in need of a reasonable accommodation to complete the application process should call 773-702-5800 or submit a request via the Applicant Inquiry Form.The University of Chicago’s Annual Security & Fire Safety Report provides information about University offices and programs that provide safety support, crime and fire statistics, emergency response and communications plans, and other policies and information.
