Regulatory and Operations Counsel (Energy, Solar, and EV Charging)Company:
PrologisA day in the lifeWe are seeking an in-house lawyer with specialized experience advising on regulatory and statutory matters in the renewable energy (solar or battery storage) and/or EV charging space in the United States. As part of our legal team, you will advise and train legal and business partners about relevant laws and regulations in the dynamic and evolving fields of solar, energy storage, and EV charging/mobility in addition to supporting contracting and transactional matters as needed.Key responsibilities include:Research and provide guidance to internal teams on federal, state, local laws and industry legal standards governing the company’s solar, battery storage and mobility/EV charging projects, including regulatory changes and their potential impact on products and services offered.Monitor, interpret and stay abreast of regulatory developments and changes in energy, solar, and mobility sectors to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Provide advice on best practices for development of a regulatory compliance program tailored to the company's solar, battery storage, and EV charging business lines.Support risk assessments and audits to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.Assist with drafting contracts, legal memos, and other legal documents.Advise on legal risks associated with business initiatives and propose risk mitigation strategies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions.Manage external counsel relationships, when necessary, and ensure effective and efficient legal support.Participate in the development and delivery of legal training programs to internal stakeholders.Other duties as assigned.Building blocks for successRequired:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.In-depth knowledge of energy regulations, solar incentives, and mobility industry regulations.A minimum of 7+ years of experience with regulatory matters and/or corporate or commercial law, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance in the energy, solar, and mobility sectors.Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively under tight deadlines.Hiring Salary Range of: $167,000 to $230,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.Employment Type:
