Position descriptionThe Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity (CLTC) is a premier research and collaboration hub dedicated to building secure digital futures. CLTC is searching for a Project Scientist to conduct research focusing on usable privacy and security, including consumer information privacy, manipulative user interface design, algorithmic manipulation, data governance, and artificial intelligence policy. The Project Scientist will contribute to CLTC's mission by mentoring student researchers, producing translational work, and organizing research-related events. Occasional travel may be required.
QualificationsBasic qualifications
(required at time of application)PhD (or equivalent international degree) or enrolled in a PhD (or equivalent international degree) program.Additional qualifications
(required at time of start)PhD or equivalent international degree.Preferred qualifications
Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) in a relevant technical or social science discipline.Experience conducting technical, social science, or design research related to consumer information privacy.Significant record of academic accomplishments.Experience conducting empirical research with qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods.Ability to work independently with a high level of scientific judgment.Organizational and communication skills necessary for effective project management.Demonstrated success in raising funding to support research.A desire to write both peer-reviewed and public facing research.Experience teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate student researchers.
