Master’s degree in Educational Research, Statistics, Data Science, Higher Education, or a related field.At least 3 years of experience in institutional research, data management, or a related field.Proficiency in statistical analysis software and database management tools (e.g., SPSS, Tableau, SQL, etc.).Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.Knowledge of federal and state reporting requirements for higher education.Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of compassion, fairness, respect, responsibility, tolerance, and truth.Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a community college setting.Experience with institutional accreditation and assessment processes.Familiarity with data governance practices and systems used in higher education.Proficiency in survey development, data visualization, and advanced data analysis tools.Job Summary

The Director of Institutional Research is a key leader in ensuring Morton College’s success through the use of data to inform strategic planning, innovation, and decision-making. As a highly technical and data-driven role, the Director will collaborate with senior leadership and faculty to provide the insights that drive student success, improve institutional performance, and foster innovation. The Director leads a team of data analysts to develop cutting-edge approaches to data collection, analysis, and visualization, ensuring that Morton College remains at the forefront of data-informed decision-making.Specific Job Duties

Lead Data Innovation and Analysis

Spearhead data collection and analysis efforts, using advanced methodologies and technologies to provide insights that support institutional strategy and innovation.Partner with faculty, deans, and senior leaders to ensure data is driving continuous improvement and addressing key challenges in student success and institutional performance.Strategic Data Reporting and Compliance

Manage the development of internal dashboards and reports, empowering leadership with real-time insights into institutional performance and progress toward strategic goals.Ensure the timely submission of all federal, state, and accreditation reports, positioning Morton College as a leader in compliance and accountability.Collaboration and Data-Driven Decision Support

Collaborate closely with the Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness to ensure that data is aligned with institutional strategic planning, curriculum management, and scheduling decisions.Provide key insights for program reviews, faculty assessments, and accreditation, ensuring the institution remains focused on student success and continuous improvement.Grants and Institutional Support

Play an integral role in supporting institutional grant applications and compliance through data analysis and reporting, helping to secure funding that aligns with workforce development and academic goals.Leadership in Data Governance and Quality Assurance

Lead the institution’s data governance efforts, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and security in all institutional data practices.Implement cutting-edge data quality assurance processes that set a standard for excellence in higher education.Fostering a Culture of Data-Informed Innovation

Cultivate a culture of inquiry and evidence throughout the College by promoting data literacy and innovation in data use.Continuously explore new ways to leverage data to enhance institutional performance, improve student outcomes, and drive the College’s mission forward.Salary Range
