Your Opportunity as the Department Manager~we currently have 2 openings (1 in Snacks and 1 in Dry Operations)Location: Topeka, KS manufacturing plantWork Arrangements: 100% on-siteWillingness to work off shift (including nights, weekends, and/or holidays) and flow to the work as neededReports to: Operations ManagerIn this role you will:Lead a team of employees to deliver key business results through providing direction on production goals, technical improvement, and various projects related to the operation.Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Developing scopes of workPeople management and developmentManaging the department's budget and cost controlsDevelop & Deliver Department Master plan and manage the daily results of the work - includes equipment layout, team design/staffing, results managementOptimize the work in the department and drive toward zero defectsAct as a coach and facilitator to the team in areas such as people management, problem solving and decision makingPeople Management - including skill development, career development, performance management, and employee issue resolutionDevelop and implement improvement projects and drive completion through the team, ensuring Operational ExcellenceEnsure the department meets safety, quality and sanitation standardsEnsure that essential business information and general expectations are clearly communicated and understood by all members of the teamLead a multidisciplinary team to successfully execute departmental expectationsBuild organizational capabilities and eliminate losses using Operational Excellence methodologyRole model our Basic Beliefs, Our Commitment to Each Other, and Emotional Intelligence to build resonanceMaintain a customer focused relationship with Research & Development (R&D) and MarketingThe Right Place for YouWe are bold, kind, strive to do the right thing, we play to win, and we believe in a strong community that thrives together.
