October 15-December 31, 2024The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking candidates for a faculty position in classical hematology in the Department of Medicine at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, in the Division of Hematology. This faculty position reports to Mikkael Sekeres, M.D., M.S., Chief, Division of Hematology, and to Gerald Soff, M.D. , Section Chief, Classical Hematology. Faculty will have clinical and research responsibilities within the Division and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is South Florida only NCI-designated Cancer Center. This individual will serve as an attending physician specializing in the care and treatment of patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders. This includes outpatient care at Sylvester as well as inpatient attending responsibilities for the division at UHealth Tower and Jackson Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate should be motivated to participate in the expansion of the Sylvester clinical trials portfolio. Applicants must be board certified/eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology and be able to obtain a Florida Medical License. There is particular interest in candidates who are team scientists, highly collaborative, with a track record of excellence in patient care, research, peer-reviewed publications, and the potential to develop and lead clinical trials, including investigator-initiated trials. The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is a University of Miami Hospital and Clinics Facility, the only university-based cancer center in the region, and a proud member of the Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers. Sylvester offers the only Phase 1 clinical trials program in South Florida, providing access to some of the newest investigational therapies. The Division of Hematology has 40 full-time faculty, with strong clinical and academic activities, and sponsors a fully ACGME-approved fellowship training program in Hematology.About the Employer
