Colorado State University (CSU) is Colorado’s land-grant institution and holds the Doctoral/Research University-Extensive classification from the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. The Department of Construction Management is one of the largest construction management programs in the country with approximately 800 undergraduate students, 20 graduate students, 21 faculty and 7 professional staff. The Department offers both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in construction management. The Department works in collaboration with both the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and School of Education to offer interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs with construction management focus areas for students with diverse backgrounds and research interests.The Professor and Department Head of Construction Management in the College of Health and Human Sciences is a 12-month, full-time faculty position. We are seeking applicants with a proven track record in education, service, research, development, inspiring leadership, and effective interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Successful candidates will have demonstrated high ethical standards and are expected to operate in a transparent and collegial way.Additionally, successful candidates should be responsive to the needs of faculty, staff, and students within the Department and have a strong commitment to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in and an enthusiastic commitment to promoting industry relations.Required Job Qualifications:Earned Doctorate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or in a related field;Academic credentials commensurate with a faculty appointment at the rank of Professor with tenure (mid-career Associate Professor or higher rank);Demonstrated leadership experience, indicating the ability to effectively manage and support the professional development of department personnel and to develop, implement, and effectively communicate a focused strategic vision;Evidence of recognition and excellence in teaching in the construction management discipline, or in a related field;Demonstrated commitment to student success and student development at the undergraduate and graduate levels;Evidence of recognition and excellence in scholarship/research and demonstrated potential for seeking and acquiring funds for scholarly research;Commitment to growing industry partnerships, and identifying and supporting other strategically-aligned revenue generating initiatives;Demonstrated administrative experience, indicating the ability to effectively budget and equitably allocate resources;Commitment to enhancing diversity among faculty, staff and students, and creating an equitable and inclusive environment.Preferred Job Qualifications:Experience in providing tenure and promotion reviews and/or leading the tenure and promotion process;Professional experience in construction or closely related field;Service in positions of leadership in national and/or international professional organizations;Involvement or service to Associated Schools of Construction (ASC);Experience with assessment and ACCE accreditation/reaccreditation processes;Demonstrated evidence of effective fundraising and experience in donor relations;Demonstrated evidence of organizational/departmental service;Commitment to enhance graduate programs at the masters and PhD levels;Proven record of leadership experience with an understanding of interaction with diverse groups of internal and external constituents.To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59pm (MT) on 11/11/2024.
