North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC)

The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is seeking an instructor to teach Musical Theatre classes at our North End and School Partner sites. The instructor will teach a Musical Theatre class for grades K - 1 in the Fall, co-direct a musical production for grades 1 - 2 in the Winter, and teach a Musical Theatre Class for grades 1 - 2, including their participation in the Spring Musical in the Spring. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organized, and is excellent at communication with both families and administration.NEMPAC encourages BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, and other communities historically underrepresented in arts administration spaces to apply.Teaching day(s) available:

Must be available Monday afternoons.FALL SESSION:

September - December (10 weeks) in the North EndMusical Theatre for Grades K1-1Mondays from 3:10 - 4:10pm (45 minute class with school pick-up)WINTER SESSION:

January - March (10 weeks plus tech/show) in the North EndJunior Troupers Production for Grades 1 - 2Mondays from 3:10 - 4:40 (75 min class with school pick-up)Tech Rehearsals: March 26th & 27th from 4:30 - 6:30pmPerformances: March 28th at 6pm and March 29th at 3pm*Tech and Shows will take place at the Charlestown Working TheaterSPRING SESSION:

April - June (10 weeks plus tech/show) in the North EndJunior Troupers for Grades 1 - 2Mondays from 3:10 - 4:10pm (45 minute class with school pick-up)North End LocationAdditional Rehearsals for Spring Musical: May 9th, 14th, and 15th.Performances: May 16th and 17th*Spring musical rehearsal and performances are in Charlestown, and the schedule is subject to change.*Additional teaching days available with local partner schools, days to be determined.Teaching Responsibilities:Teach engaging lessons in Musical TheatreManage a classroom of up to 12 students in grades K - 2Pick students up from the local school at 3:10pmMentor and supervise a teen teaching assistant.Communicate effectively with parents/guardiansComplete and submit curriculum template worksheet.Set up and clean up classroom space each week.Take attendance in each class and sign students out with their authorized guardians.Ensure consistency in each student's learning.Attend occasional faculty meetingsCompensation & Benefits:$50 - $52/hr if teaching more than one hour per day, depending on experience and education.$60/hr when teaching one hour or less per day.An additional $2/hr will be added to the base rate should a teen teaching assistant be added to your responsibilities.An additional $100 per 10-week session for school pick-up.Employee/W2.Optional 401(k) enrollment with 4% employer match on your selected contributionQualifications:Shared values in inclusivity and accessibility to arts programming for allBachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
