Job Summary
Designs high performance custom analog and mixed signal layout for integrated circuits using design rules and expert problem-solving skills; applies these skill sets so that layout conforms to engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
Completes work through use of CAD layout softwareWorks closely with the engineer to provide high quality layout in a timely mannerAbility to do block level, macro level and top level; floor planning, assembly and verificationExperience working in multiple processesAbility to lead peers/teams on complex blocks and top levelCommunicates regular status updatesTakes on mentoring/leadership roles to promote high quality work of entire teamAbility to learn and evaluate new tool/features with little supervision and proactively share knowledge with peersAbility to recognize common analog structures and floorplan blocks utilizing best analog layout practicesCreate and give presentations, write 'how to' documents and training instructions for layout and engineering peers.Recommends new/changes to policies, methodologies and established proceduresOther duties as required.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or equivalentA combination of 8+ years of training and related experienceAn advanced degree may reduce the minimum experience required.
Preferred Skills
Strong understanding of basic electrical properties and principlesStrong familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Layout XL, Calibre and UnixAdvanced knowledge of layout dependent effects with regarding to device and process matching techniquesExecution in Top Level assembly of LayoutStrong knowledge of Latchup preventionStrong knowledge of ESD protection schemesStrong familiarity with P&R methods a plusProficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and OutlookOutstanding communication and verbal presentation skills

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock. These incentives and awards are based on individual and/or company performance.
