Statistics Pre-six LecturerSalary Range:
A reasonable estimate for an appointment to teach a standard five-credit course is $9,602 - $20,104 (based on salary points 5-30). Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.Percent Time:
Variable, based on the course load assigned.Anticipated Start:
Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding.
This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in fall quarter 2024 through fall quarter 2025.
Initial appointments with effective dates outside of this recruitment period will require an alternative open recruitment.Position Duration:

The Department of Statistics at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach Statistics courses. Course topics include, but are not limited to, all areas of statistics: elementary statistics, probability theory, and statistical inference.Outstanding candidates with experience to teach courses in one or more of the above areas are encouraged to apply. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties. Appointments are temporary positions with end dates and generally made one quarter at a time, based on the changing curricular needs of the department.Internal candidates will be given priority consideration.Qualifications
Basic Qualifications

(or equivalent foreign degree) in statistics or closely related or relevant field.Teaching experience demonstrated by college level teaching experience, TA experience, research presentations, and/or professional development training seminars.Application Requirements
