Reporting directly to the CSO, you will lead the North American Sales Team to drive strategic growth, build customer partnerships, and improve product margins.
This leadership role involves managing and developing a team of nine without direct sales responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is an effective leader (humble, hungry, & people-smart) with proven experience growing top-line sales and meeting margin goals in the consumer goods, fragrance, flavor, chemical, or adjacent industries. You must excel at relationship building and be highly engaged with cross-functional teams (Product Development, Manufacturing, Customer Service...) in a fast-paced environment to capture and execute business opportunities. Develop and implement strategic plans for sales growth, increased margins & building verticals•
Collaborate with internal teams on the execution of customer opportunities and growth strategies•
Build strategic relationships with customer leadership•
Inspire and motivate the team to improve performance and grow within their positions•
Practice and teach the company’s consultative sales philosophy•
Recruit, hire, and develop training programs for the sales team•
Provide innovative solutions to complex problems•
Travel with team members to grow partnerships and support business initiatives•
Engage with company leadership to drive business strategies•
Provide sales forecasts to assist with supply chain planning•
Develop and implement pricing procedures, KPIs, and best practices•
Participate in industry trade shows and strategic associations (example: HCPA)Executive Director of Sales - North America (CPG Industry) Qualifications•
Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA preferred•
6+ years of sales leadership experience in a
highly cross-functional position
is required•
B2B consultative sales in the
CPG, fragrance, flavor, chemical, or adjacent industries
is required•
Strong presentation/storytelling and strategic planning skills are required•
Ability to travel nationally up to 40% in year 1 is required (25%-35% in year 2 & beyond)•
Ability to work from the corporate office when not traveling is required
