Job Overview
The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue, increase occupancy rates, and enhance the overall brand presence of the hotel. This individual manages the sales team and plays a crucial role in achieving the hotel's financial and business objectives. This position requires a strong understanding of the hospitality industry, market trends, and effective promotional tactics.
What You'll be Doing
Sales Strategy and Management:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan that targets various market segments and accounts for group, corporate, and leisure business.
Lead the sales team in identifying new business opportunities, maintaining existing client relationships, and achieving revenue targets.
Manage the hotel's online presence, including the website, social media channels, and online travel agencies.
Analyze market trends and guest feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and provide regular reports to the company.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination for group events, meetings, and conventions.
Revenue Management:
Work closely with revenue management teams to optimize pricing strategies and maximize revenue per available room (RevPAR).
Implement effective yield management practices to balance occupancy and rates.
Monitor and analyze competitive set pricing and adjust strategies as needed.
Relationship Building:
Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and stay updated on industry trends.
Budgeting and Financial Analysis:
Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, allocating resources effectively.
Conduct regular financial analysis to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
Make data-driven decisions to improve ROI on marketing initiatives.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team.
Provide guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations to team members.
Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience in hotel sales and marketing, with a track record of achieving revenue goals.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Proficiency in using hotel management systems, sales software and marketing analytics tools.
In-depth knowledge of the local and regional hospitality market.

Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines.
