Responsibilities:Responsibilities (vary dependent upon hiring level):EIT:
Serve as an engineer on the planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning of water and wastewater treatment projects of various sizes
Perform data entry and analysis
Perform system modeling, process calculations, and hydraulic calculations to size and select facilities
Prepare cost estimates
Perform permitting and alternatives analysis
Prepare technical memoranda, reports, plans and specifications, and other deliverables
Perform engineering services during construction, including but not limited to reviewing contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications and evaluating requests for information
Participate in field activities, such as site visits, overseeing field work, and pilot testing
Travel may be required
P.E. through Senior Engineer additional responsibilities could include:
Serve as the technical lead on the planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning of water and wastewater treatment projects of various sizes (small, medium, and large)
May serve as project manager on small to medium sized projects and would assume all project manager responsibilities
Participate in field activities, such as site visits and overseeing field work
Provide on-the-job training and mentoring of project staff and entry to mid-level engineers
Maintain a culture of effective communication among project teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholders
Perform engineering services during construction, including but not limited to reviewing contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications and evaluating requests for information
Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients
Partner with local business development teams to identify project opportunities and assist with business development activities, including, but not limited to proposal preparation, scope and fee preparation, and interview participation
Coordinate the work of other engineering disciplines, designers, modelers, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments
Assist with proposal preparation, including development of project scopes and fees
Participate in field activities, such as site visits, overseeing field work, and pilot testing
Travel may be required
Qualifications:Qualifications (vary depending on hiring level):
Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
EIT Certification or passed FE exam or Registration as a Professional Engineer for higher level engineers
Experience delivering and managing water/wastewater treatment projects with partial responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards for higher level engineers
Ability to deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints
Ability to apply critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques to develop options and recommendations to solve technical problems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams
Work well in a team environment
Highly motivated and self-starting
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:Education and Experience (vary depending on hiring level):
Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Engineer-in-Training: 0-2 years of experience in planning, design, and/or construction of water/wastewater treatment projects
Professional Engineer: 2-5 years of experience
Mid level Engineer: 5-12 years of experience
Senior level Engineer: 12+ years of experience
Pay Range:$60,000 to $190,000 annually. Range varies dependent upon hiring level. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
