Role Brief:
The WHEAT Store Manager will lead and oversee The Shop by WHEAT retail store at the Ritz Carlton, located in Kapalua, Maui. This candidate is expected to be a strong representation of WHEAT's company values, standards, and organization. The candidate will also be passionate about luxury fashion and have a deep knowledge of the brands we carry including (but not limited to) Tom Ford, Citizens of Humanity, Frank and Eileen, Onia, Vilebrequin, Jennifer Meyer Fine Jewelry, Goshwara Fine Jewelry, and more. In addition, they will be able to educate team members and guests on The WHEAT Collection, our own clothing collection that includes luxury loungewear, candles, and fragrances, all made in the USA. The WHEAT Store Manager will be able to draw upon their previous retail management experience to strongly lead the team, ensuring success in reaching monthly store sales goals, maintaining visual displays, building guest relationships, organizing back stock, and engaging in weekly team conference calls. Prior experience in supervising a team, cash handling, register operations, receiving and processing shipments, daily inventory counts of fine goods, and light cleaning duties is a must. The candidate must be able to work independently and be willing to problem solve. Visual skills are not required, but are preferred as this position requires routine communication with the head of merchandising.
Skills & Qualifications:
A thorough background of WHEAT knowledge and skillsets is a must (ie. customer service, cash register, processing shipment arrivals, answering calls or emails, product knowledge)
Proven experience in educating team members to successfully meet sales goals and expectations
Experience in assisting high-end guests, and ability to educate team members with the same skill
Proven ability to multi-task
Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated
Ability to think independently and troubleshoot technological difficulties on POS Systems
Applied experience and understanding of all Microsoft Office Products
Days, nights, and some weekends are a must
Strong ability to communicate both verbally and written to all team members, and Home Office
Must have a minimum of 5 years in retail management experience
Responsibilities include:
Consistently demonstrate a strong understanding of proactive leadership within a luxury retail operation
Assist in guest’s needs and problem solve any guest-related concerns within (and according to) company standards
Train team members on store operating procedures and selling techniques
Train team members on the POS system, demonstrating its functionality, day-to-day usage, and reporting capabilities
Understand the monthly sales goals and create strategies to maximize profitability
Lead and empower each store team member with skills to meet their sales goals
Hiring in-store team members as necessary
Receive deliveries of goods and follow WHEAT protocol for back stock and inventory management
Ensure daily reports of stores performance are accurate and complete
Participate in weekly conference calls with operations, inventory, and buying office
Maintain a consistent and active presence on the sales floor, providing coverage where necessary to maintain store hours, service standards, and an optimal, elevated guest experience
Manage store schedule, weekly payroll, and budgets
