Ingenuity Prep prepares PreK - 8th grade students in Ward 8 to succeed in college and beyond as impactful civic leaders. Our innovative instructional model promotes small-group learning for students, collaborative teaching teams, and robust coaching and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff.
We are looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our school who is deeply committed to our students and staff, has a passion for customer service, and wants to help build our team. As a member of the Ingenuity Prep Student’s Talent Team, you will join a five-person team to support leaders, teachers, students, and families as a critical partner in ensuring we’re among the best places to work in DC!
In this role, you will manage the daily functions of Human Resources at IP. One day, you may be onboarding new staff, while the next day, you’re managing payroll questions from current staff. You’ll work to solve workplace disputes while interpreting and applying Human Resources laws and regulations.
Note: This role will be for the 2025-2026 school year, but we are looking for a candidate who can start by March 3rd, 2024, in order to have an overlapped onboarding with our current HR manager before their departure. Additionally, this role is equivalent to a Human Resource generalist role and does not manage direct reports.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Human Resource Manager at Ingenuity Prep, you will:
Own
a suite of Human Resource software tools and processes, including m
anaging Ingenuity Prep’s HRIS system to ensure staff data is comprehensive and accurate.
Manage recurring Human Resource processes such as performance reviews, engagement surveys, 401k audits, OSSE reports, employee handbook development, etc. .
Leads
onboarding, rewards/benefits, time and attendance, payroll, offboarding, etc. and participates in staff disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Analyze data and create dashboards/quarterly reports to communicate trends and effective solutions in a simple and effective manner.
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, staff, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Work in partnership with the Chief Talent Officer in leading IP’s DEI initiatives.
Lead and facilitate our new staff professional develoment programming.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You have 2-3 years of human resources experience – preferably within a start-up environment or a school.
You’re a self starter who can quickly ramp up and build strong relationships with different personalities.
You have the ability to work independently, take direction, receive feedback and execute accordingly.
You are organized, detail-oriented, and focused on getting things done in a systematic, process driven manner.
You have a strong sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to "get it done"
You are deeply committed to equity and inclusion.
You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating structure while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
You have experience working with ATS or HRIS systems (Greenhouse, ADP, and Trinet/Zenefits experience is a plus).
