As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor for Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, you will provide quality direct and indirect patient care to individuals with substance use or other diagnosed issues.Pay Range:
$24/hr. to $30/hr.Full Time Work Schedule:
Tuesday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Per Diem Work Schedule:
Friday, Saturday and a day TBD from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Per Diem Work Schedule:
Sunday, Monday and a day TBD from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Responsibilities:
Assesses patients' stage and extent of substance use and comorbid mental health issuesDevelops and implements a plan of treatment, in conjunction with members of a multi-disciplinary teamConducts didactic and other appropriate patient groups for both substance use and dual diagnosed issuesCommunicates with referral sources and other appropriate parties regarding patients' progressCoordinates and implements patients' dischargeAttends and participates in department and other program or clinical and administrative meetingsSupports maintenance and development of clinical program or servicesProvides backup services to Needs Assessment and Referral DepartmentParticipates in activities which enhance professional growth and developmentSkills:
Providing individual and group therapyExcellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skillsAbility to provide treatment planning and related documentation and record-keepingSkills in public speaking; thorough awareness for, and compliance with, standards of ethical care and confidentialityAbility to maintain therapeutic relationships with patients who are at various stages of emotional stability and recovery; self-control in volatile or hostile situations, such as when verbally or physically threatened or aggressively confrontedMinimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalentBLS (Basic Life Support) Certification for Healthcare Providers following the American Heart Association guidelinesCADC, SUDCC Certification OR Current RADT, SUDRCExperience working with adults and adolescents with substance use and co-occurring disorders is preferredBenefits:
