Technical Trainer – Permanent Full Time / Jandakot Power Training ServicesFacilitate ongoing skill maintenance and development to the Network ‘Total Workforce’ through the provision of training courses/programs and competency-based assessments to meet Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and the set competency standard.Your Role in ActionDelivering a variety of training courses to the Network ‘Total Workforce’ and external customers/clients.Utilise existing skills, knowledge and research to maintain and develop existing skills in the training and assessment and relevant trade qualifications.Provide technical expertise, guidance and support to formal leaders on training outcomes for trainees/employees.Maintain awareness of new and innovative training solutions.Proactively engage with key stakeholders to ensure products and services provided by the Section meet or exceed customer expectations.Support the communication of Western Power policies and practices through relevant written formats (including manuals, course documentation, etc.) and verbally (including course presentations, seminars, group development sessions, etc.).Mentor trainees on-the-job training, workplace learning and experience through formal leaders.Perform competency-based assessments with the Network ‘Total Workforce’ to align and maintain skills and knowledge with the Australian Qualification Framework and industry-specific standards.What Makes You a Great FitCertificate IV in Training and Assessment – Highly regarded but not essential.A current Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing and/or Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Overhead and/or Certificate II in ESI - Asset Inspection and/or Nationally recognised switching units of competence from the relevant training package.A current Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Overhead and/or Western Power switching authorisation (expired for less than 24 months). Additional qualifications such as Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing or Certificate II in ESI - Asset Inspection will be an advantage but are not essential.At least 7+ years of relevant extensive industry experience in Power or a related industry.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, that enable effective interaction between key stakeholders.Ability to work independently, plan and work to priorities to meet pre-determined deliverables and outcomes within established timelines.Willingness to work and travel to other depot locations, as required.Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’.By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future.
