Regional Safety Director - Florida

Primary Responsibilities
Supervises Regional Safety Managers.
Strategically partners with location and regional leadership in implementation of company safety program.
Conducts frequent jobsite visits, analyzing work practices to determine safe and efficient methods of performing work.
Determines corrective or preventative means and methods were identified and follows up to ensure they have been implemented.
Documents information in relevant reports and analyzes data to make process recommendations.
Ensures all safety policies and procedures comply with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Responsible for the investigation and defense of OSHA citations.
Completes and files Notice of Contest and represents the company in all safety and health inspections conducted by OSHA.
Oversees the Region’s delivery of training programs for managers, supervisors and field employees when required and assists in the development of training programs as needed.
Assists local office and field leadership as needed in identifying potential safety issues affecting overall safety performance for an assigned operating unit or company.
Oversees a Region’s injury and claims management process as needed, included but not limited to, developing injury, illness treatment protocol, and OSHA recordkeeping management.
Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
This position reports directly to the company Director of EHS.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related degree and 10 years of relative experience or 12 years of equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Familiarity with construction safety work rules contained in Supervisor Safety Manuals as well as OSHA Part 1910 and 1926 regulations.
Understanding of state Workers Compensation laws and reporting requirements.
Anticipated travel requirement: 50%.
Bilingual strongly preferred.
