This is a new role that will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of a wide variety of financial and other reports. The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position will have a strong background in US GAAP with experience in a public accounting environment servicing consumer products clients.RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including footnote disclosures, supporting schedules, roll-forwards, tie-outs, and disclosure checklistsPrepare reporting packages and analysis for leadership and the board of directorsMonitor, research, assess, document, and drive implementation of new accounting pronouncementsAdminister the equity management platformPrepare equity related journal entries and monitor equity compensation accounting, administration, and internal control functionsAssist in the 409A valuation process and prepare supporting documentationImplement new software and efficiency tools related to equity and financial reportingAssist in the gathering of quarterly related party questionnaires and reportingAssist in monitoring climate related disclosures and developing a process to document our compliance with regulations.Assist in various special projects as they arisePerform adhoc benchmarking research of peer companiesMaintain internal controls documentation for financial reporting functionsAssist investor relationsEstablish and maintain active and effective communication and relationships with cross functional partners on the finance, legal, and people operations teamsImplement process improvement initiatives to streamline the reporting process to provide accurate and timely informationQUALIFICATIONS3+ years relevant public accounting experience, Big 4 experience preferredCPA or progress towards obtaining license preferredPrior experience in e-commerce or CPG is a plusStrong accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAPPrior experience with NetSuite, Workiva, Carta, and/or Shareworks is a plusMust be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPointMust be highly proficient in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLookUp’s, Sumifs, etcAbility to work under pressure, often in a deadline-driven environment, and ability to perform several tasks concurrentlyMust possess excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and superior attention to detailAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writingAbility to occasionally travel (~5%)BELONG TO A BETTER COMPANYComprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, life and disability)Competitive salary (DOE) + equity401k plan9 Observed HolidaysFlexible Paid Time OffSubsidized ClassPass Membership with access to fitness classes and wellness and beauty experiencesAbility to work in our beautiful co-working space at WeWork in Playa Vista and other locationsFree Thrive Market membership with exclusive employee discountCoverage for Life Coaching & Therapy Sessions on our holistic mental health and well-being platformWe're a community of more than 1 Million + members who are united by a singular belief: It should be easy to find better products, support better brands, make better choices, and build a better world in the process.At Thrive Market, we believe in building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic culture.
